Jon brings to clients more than 30 years senior-level experience with top brands in the retail and retail technology industries, and around the world. In that time, he has headed worldwide retail and consumer goods sales worldwide for the Intel Corporation, served as a technology and trend advisor to some of the world’s leading industry associations and standards bodies and led sales for a womenswear apparel brand on 7th Avenue, negotiating assortment, volume, distribution, and gross margins with senior merchants.
Jon also helped found a future vision for retail that became the Metro Group Store of the Future and led North American retail consulting for Cisco Systems. Lastly, Stein envisioned and co-led a multi-company consortium that delivered the first China-to-Arkansas global RFID/EPC-enabled supply chain for the world’s largest retailer.
These days, Jon works as a Research Affiliate for the Auto-ID Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with a focus on artificial intelligence/voice and conversational commerce. He serves as a Consulting Affiliate with The Sprosty Network, the superb Minneapolis-based retailing and product-concept consulting firm. He’s a senior advisor to the New York- and Columbus-based Retail Future Lab, and advisor/participant with start-ups in the States and Europe.
