Hanson Li is the founder and managing partner of Salt Partners, a food and beverage development and management company in San Francisco. Salt's current portfolio includes Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream, High-Proof, Neighbor Bakehouse, and Lazy Susan. Salt's legacy portfolio includes Crenn Dining Group (Michelin 3-star Atelier Crenn), Saison (Michelin 2-star) and LocoL (LA Time's Restaurant of the Year).
Hanson is also a prolific investor and advisor to tech companies in the F&B industry. He previously served on the board of advisors of OpenTable and his invested portfolio includes Workstream, Bikky, Focal, Meitre/Ritual, and PlateIQ/Ottimate.
Combining his expertise in food and technology, Hanson recently co-founded a company to reinvent refrigerators to bring this 100 year old appliance to the digital age. Using solid state cooling and sensors, software and AI algorithms, Peltier is steering the industry from the one-size fit all approach and for the first time reconsider how and where we want to use refrigeration.
Prior to his F&B successes at Salt, Hanson was Managing Director at Hina Group, a China focused merchant bank. He graduated from Stanford Graduate School of Business as Siebel Scholar (Top 5 graduate) and Arjay Miller Scholar. In addition to his MBA, he also has bachelor and master degrees from Stanford. Outside of tech and F&B, Hanson is passionate about Asian American causes and serves on the board of Center for Asia America Media.
